WantedBooks.com has been created to provide bookbuyers a simple & effective way to purchase - and advertise for - their 'wantedbooks,' thus gaining access to the vast inventory of out-of-print books worldwide. And, with the ability to search the inventories of hundreds of independent book sellers inventories, anyone can use this site as a self search service to assist in acquiring books.

WantedBooks.com also provides booksellers another option/tool for selling books via the Internet. Individuals, collectors & dealers are free to browse the 'wantedbook' listings and offer books in response. This is a free service. Additionally, booksellers may pay a monthly hosting fee to list their inventory for sale on the site.

Patty Johnson is the operations manager, web-developer and database programmer for wantedbooks.com. In business with her husband, Walter (www.dreedle.com), she has extensive experience in database management and web-site development for on-line bookselling.

James Bryant is proprietor of Carpe Diem Fine Books, Monterey, California. Bryant, a member of the Anitiquarian Booksellers Association of America (ABAA), has been an online bookseller since 1995 and partner in Backer-Bryant Academic Library Services, since 1999.

A. R. Backer owns and operates a bricks and mortar bookshop at 7 West Street, Warwick, New York (formerly in New Windsor, New York). He has also been selling books online for the past seven years, and during that time partnered with Jim to form Backer-Bryant Academic Library Services, purchasing Out of Print books and providing other services for university and college libraries.
